Description
An SWR Bend 45° is a uPVC fitting that is a fundamental component of any well-designed SWR (Soil, Waste, and Rainwater) drainage network. Its primary function is to change the direction of a pipeline by a precise 45-degree angle. This specific angle is highly beneficial in plumbing because it creates a much less abrupt turn for the flow of waste and water compared to a sharper 90-degree bend.
The more gradual curve helps to prevent turbulence and the accumulation of waste at the turn, which significantly reduces the risk of clogs and ensures a quieter, more efficient drainage system. SWR 45-degree bends are commonly used to create offsets in a pipeline, to navigate around obstacles, or to gradually change the path of a vertical or horizontal drain. They are available in both ring-type (push-fit) and pasted-type (solvent weld) versions to suit different installation needs.
