Description
An SWR Plain Bend Pasted Type is a specific uPVC fitting used in SWR (Soil, Waste, and Rainwater) drainage systems to create a permanent change in direction. The term “pasted type” refers to its joining method, which requires the use of a specialized solvent cement. This cement is applied to both the pipe and the inner surface of the fitting, chemically fusing the two pieces into a single, monolithic unit.
This type of fitting provides a very strong and reliable bond, making it ideal for applications where the joint must withstand pressure or remain permanently sealed. Unlike the ring-type fitting, it does not allow for thermal expansion or contraction. Its use is common in fixed installations where a high-strength, leak-proof connection is a priority. The installation involves cleaning and prepping the surfaces, applying the solvent cement, and then quickly pushing and twisting the pipe into the fitting to ensure a complete and lasting bond.
